Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested and arraigned nine persons for traffic violations and obstruction of public highways in Sango-Ota.
The arrests were carried out by officers of the Sango-Ota Division as part of the ongoing “Operation No Traffic Gridlock,” in compliance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni.
Police operatives were strategically deployed to flashpoints known for persistent traffic congestion and road indiscipline, where several vehicles and tricycles were intercepted for violating traffic regulations.
Authorities said vehicles found obstructing the free flow of traffic were impounded in line with the command’s zero-tolerance policy.
The suspects arrested include Rufus Kunle, Sanni Ogbewi, Aremu Oluwatunmise, Kayode Ariyo, Wisdom Akpan, Yinka Molaolu, Olushola Adebowale, Ikechukwu Ogah and Nwuda Chukwuka.
Police confirmed that the suspects have been formally charged to court, while enforcement operations continue to identify and apprehend other offenders undermining public safety in the Sango-Ota corridor.
Ojajuni commended the professionalism of the operatives and reiterated the command’s commitment to enforcing traffic laws strictly.

He warned that individuals who deliberately cause traffic gridlock or disobey lawful directives of traffic officers would face decisive legal action, regardless of status.
The command also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through its emergency lines.
