The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Akeem Olalekan Dauda, has commenced the 2026 revenue drive with visits to key companies within the council area.
During the engagements, Dauda emphasised the importance of prompt payment of rates and taxes, noting that compliance remains vital for sustaining development and delivering quality services to residents.
He urged corporate organisations to partner with the local government by fulfilling their civic responsibilities, stressing that internally generated revenue is critical to grassroots development.
Responding, some company managers commended the initiative and expressed readiness to cooperate with the council.
They, however, appealed for a more conducive business environment that supports growth, ease of operations and improved infrastructure.
In his response, the chairman assured stakeholders of the council’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment, adding that feedback from the private sector would be considered to strengthen public-private collaboration.
The chairman was accompanied on the visits by the Council Manager, Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko; the Council Treasurer; the Head of Department, Planning and Budget, Dr. Yemisi Anita Rasak; and other area officers.

Dauda noted that the revenue drive is part of his administration’s broader strategy to boost internally generated revenue and accelerate development across the local government.
