The Ogun State Police Command has deployed personnel and operational assets to 72 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the state to ensure security during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The UTME, organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, is scheduled to hold from April 16 to April 25, 2026.

The command said the deployment is part of proactive, intelligence-led measures aimed at ensuring a safe, orderly and credible examination process across all centres in the state.

According to the police, the operational strategy includes visible security presence, early threat detection and swift response to any security concerns before, during and after the examination period.

The deployment follows directives from the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, who placed all Area Commanders on heightened alert.

They have been mandated to oversee security operations within their jurisdictions, ensure proper supervision of personnel, maintain patrols around examination centres and coordinate closely with Divisional Police Officers, tactical teams and JAMB officials.

The command warned that any form of examination malpractice, impersonation or disorderly conduct would attract immediate arrest and prosecution.

He also urged candidates to comply strictly with examination guidelines and conduct themselves responsibly.

The police encouraged members of the public to report suspicious activities through its emergency lines as part of efforts to sustain a secure environment during the nationwide examination.
