President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated three major infrastructure projects in Lagos State, describing them as critical to improving governance, mobility, and economic growth in the state.
The projects include the Open-Mende-Ojota Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographical Information System (LAGIS) building, and the Multi-Agency Complex in Alausa, which has been renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex.
The President was represented at the ceremony by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who formally commissioned the projects on his behalf.
Akpabio explained that Tinubu’s absence was due to the demands of his office, noting that presidential responsibilities often limit his ability to attend all engagements.
In his address, Tinubu described the projects as more than physical infrastructure, saying they symbolise purposeful governance aimed at delivering visible and impactful development.
“The Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge is more than a road; it is a bridge to opportunity,” he said, stressing that improved traffic flow would boost productivity, enhance business growth, and improve quality of life for residents.
The President also expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government for naming the administrative complex after him, stating that the honour reflected collective efforts rather than individual achievement.
“This is about a system and a public service that continues to deliver. The complex is an investment in efficiency, coordination, and better service delivery,” he said, adding that the LAGIS building represents the future of land administration.
Tinubu noted that the projects align with his administration’s vision of building a modern, digitally enabled, and economically strong Nigeria. He urged that such standards be replicated nationwide.
He further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, governance reforms, and expanding economic opportunities, while commending Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his leadership in delivering the projects.
Speaking at the event, Sanwo-Olu said the bridge project would significantly improve traffic circulation and productivity across key parts of the state.

He added that the LAGIS facility would eliminate paper-based bottlenecks in land administration and strengthen property rights.
The governor also noted that the newly named Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex would enhance coordination among government agencies, improve service delivery, and boost the welfare of public servants.
The commissioning is part of Lagos State’s broader infrastructure expansion programme, which has seen the delivery of several landmark projects aimed at transforming the state’s urban landscape.
