eTranzact International Plc has expanded its financial inclusion drive in Ogun State with the deployment of more than 1,000 agents and thousands of PocketMoni terminals across communities in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
The company disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, noting that the onboarding of agents and deployment of terminals across the communities is ongoing.
The initiative, being implemented through eTranzact’s PocketMoni Business platform in partnership with the Zonal Community Development Committee (CDC), is designed to improve access to digital financial services in underserved and unbanked communities.
According to the company, the programme is also creating income-generating opportunities for residents and small business owners while bringing essential banking services closer to people at the grassroots.
Through the initiative, residents can now carry out cash withdrawals, money transfers, bill payments and other digital financial transactions within their communities, reducing the need to travel long distances to access banking facilities.
Speaking on the development, Chairman of the Zonal Community Development Committee, Obafemi Owode, Mr. Gboyega Adeleke, described the intervention as a significant boost to financial accessibility and local economic development.
“Before PocketMoni came, our people had to travel far for simple withdrawals and bill payments. Today, those services are available within our communities through people we know and trust. This is a development that directly impacts lives,” Adeleke said.

The Divisional Head of Financial Inclusion at eTranzact International Plc, Mr. Olalekan Disu, said the project demonstrates the impact of taking financial services directly to communities.
According to him, financial inclusion extends beyond access to financial products and services, encompassing economic empowerment and trust-building within local communities.
“By empowering local agents and deploying thousands of terminals, we are helping to stimulate economic activity, create livelihoods and make financial services more accessible to people at the grassroots,” Disu said.
He noted that the success recorded in Obafemi Owode highlights the importance of community participation in achieving sustainable financial inclusion and supporting Nigeria’s digital economy agenda.
Disu added that the initiative forms part of eTranzact’s broader strategy to bridge financial access gaps in rural and semi-urban areas while contributing to national financial inclusion targets.
He further disclosed that the company plans to replicate the model in other local government areas across the South-West following the positive reception from residents and community stakeholders.
PocketMoni Business is eTranzact’s agency banking platform that provides secure and convenient financial services to underserved and unbanked populations through a network of community-based agents.
