President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday commissioned a series of landmark projects in Ogun State, including the Federal Operations Unit, Zone A, the anti-smuggling arm of the Nigeria Customs Service – featuring a multi-billion naira new office building at Iperu.
He also inaugurated the Customs Training College housed within the same facility.
The dual commissioning highlights the Tinubu administration’s push to modernize the Nigeria Customs Service through upgraded infrastructure and specialized personnel training.
The fully operational FOU Zone A office is expected to strengthen anti-smuggling operations with heightened vigilance and professionalism.
Earlier in the day, President Tinubu also commissioned the Gateway International Airport and two newly acquired aircraft under Gateway Air, marking the official launch of Ogun State’s aviation initiative in partnership with ValueJet.

The President was joined by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Iyabo Obasanjo, Lagos State Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, Senator representing Ogun West Solomon Adeola, and other senior government officials at the inauguration.
The commissioning of these facilities signals a new era for Ogun State’s infrastructure development and the modernization of key federal services, reinforcing the government’s commitment to improving security, transportation, and economic growth across the region.
