Turkish football powerhouse Galatasaray has firmly ruled out the possibility of selling Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, dismissing mounting transfer speculation linking him with Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.
The Istanbul-based club issued a strong stance amid growing rumours across Europe, with insiders maintaining that the former African Footballer of the Year remains fully committed to the team.
Club insider Arda Özkurt revealed that he contacted the club’s hierarchy directly to clarify the striker’s future and received an unequivocal response.
“I asked Galatasaray if there were any developments regarding Victor Osimhen,” Özkurt said. “The answer was clear: ‘We haven’t received any offers, and we have no intention of selling him.’”
Özkurt also criticised those fuelling the transfer reports, suggesting that the rumours may be driven by external agendas rather than credible negotiations.
“Osimhen has no plans to leave either. Those spreading these stories do not have good intentions toward the club,” he added.
The Nigerian forward has been instrumental to Galatasaray’s campaign this season, scoring 15 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions as the club pushes strongly in both domestic and European contests.
Signed for €75 million, Osimhen still has three and a half years remaining on his contract.
Reports indicate that the club would demand as much as €140 million (approximately $166.6 million) should any formal bid emerge.
The prolific striker enjoyed an outstanding previous season, netting 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 matches.
He has maintained that impressive form this term, registering 15 goals and one assist in 21 outings, further underlining his importance to the Turkish champions.
