Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has praised Harry Amass, Patrick Dorgu and Shea Lacey following the club’s emphatic 4-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Sabah on Thursday.
United secured a comfortable win at Old Trafford, with Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes, Benjamin Sesko and Lisandro Martínez getting on the scoresheet.
Speaking after the match, Carrick expressed satisfaction with the performances of the younger players, particularly Amass and Lacey, who were given opportunities during the game.
“Delighted with being able to get Harry on the pitch — and Shea. It’s something we were focused on as the game developed,” Carrick said.
He stressed the importance of giving young players opportunities at a club of Manchester United’s stature.
“It’s important to get the younger boys on the pitch for this football club, so I’m pleased with both of them,” he added.

Carrick also singled out Dorgu for praise, describing the defender as a major threat on the flank.
“I thought Pat [Dorgu] played ever so well; he was a big threat down that side of the pitch for us tonight, so I was pleased with Pat,” the United manager said.
Manchester United will now turn their attention to the Premier League, with Carrick’s side set to face Manchester City in the Manchester derby on Sunday.
