The Federal Government has directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to strictly comply with the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) as part of efforts to strengthen budget credibility and promote fiscal discipline.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, issued the directive during a courtesy visit by the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) in Abuja.
He emphasized that adherence to the MTEF is essential for a coordinated and disciplined fiscal environment that supports sustainable economic growth.
Akume explained that the MTEF ensures public expenditure aligns with national development objectives, providing predictability and consistency in government budgeting.
