The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has reported that Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) successfully metered 109,556 customers in December 2025, marking a notable increase from 88,592 customers in November.
The figures, released in the NERC Metering Factsheet for November and December 2025 in Abuja, indicate that the national metering rate rose to 57.27 per cent by the end of December, up from 56.54 per cent the previous month.

According to the commission, Ikeja, Eko, and Abuja DisCos led the performance chart, maintaining the highest metering rates above 76 per cent.
The report further revealed that, as of December 2025, a total of 6,966,584 electricity customers had been metered nationwide out of 12,163,412 active connections.
NERC’s data underscores ongoing efforts to improve electricity accountability and reduce estimated billing across the country, signaling progress in Nigeria’s push toward full metering coverage.
