A second-year Entrepreneurship student of Bamidele Olumilua University of Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere-Ekiti, identified as Blessing, has reportedly died in a tragic incident.
The incident occurred in the Obateru area of Ikere-Ekiti, where the student was said to have taken his own life after becoming distressed over carryover courses.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the student allegedly jumped into a well and remained there for about two hours before residents raised the alarm, as no immediate rescue was available.
Upon receiving the report, the Dean of the Faculty, concerned student stakeholders, and an ambulance were swiftly mobilised to the scene. The student, however, was found lifeless in the well.
A pumping machine was later used to drain the water, and a was placed inside the well to retrieve the body.
The deceased was subsequently conveyed in an ambulance to the state morgue for embalming.
