Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc has announced its unaudited financial results for the year ended December 31, 2025, recording a pre-tax profit of N552 billion, an impressive 81.6 pet cent increase from N303.8 billion in 2024.

The robust performance was driven by higher interest income, boosted by increased loan volumes, rising interest rates, and a notable reduction in impairment charges on financial assets.

Earnings per share (EPS) rose 38.48 per cent to N23.68, marking the highest level in six years despite a significant increase in shares following new issuances.

Revenue growth was largely fueled by Stanbic Bank’s interest income, which climbed 38.8 per cent to N787.05 billion, representing 88 per cent of the bank’s gross earnings.

Loans and advances to customers and banks surged 60 per cent to N3.84 trillion, contributing 59 per cent of total interest income. Net interest income rose 42.6 per cent to N585.01 billion, outpacing the 29.5% growth in interest expenses, which amounted to N202.04 billion.

Non-interest income, including fees, commissions, and trading gains, also supported the bank’s growth. Fee and commission income increased by 38.3 per cent to N257.77 billion, propelled by heightened digital and transactional activity, while trading income benefited from strong performance in the bank’s portfolio.

On the balance sheet, total assets expanded by 24.9 per cent to N8.62 trillion, with customer deposits accounting for 50.7 per cent of the total.

Equity surged 67.8 per cent to N1.12 trillion, driven by substantial increases in share premium and retained earnings, which grew 326.8 per cent and 164.3 per cent, respectively, although equity still represents just 13 per cent of total assets.

The strong financial performance highlights Stanbic IBTC’s resilience and capacity to capitalize on market opportunities, positioning it as a major player in Nigeria’s banking sector.
