SAHCO holds annual management retreat to strengthen leadership, ethics, others

Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc successfully hosted its annual Management Retreat at the Marriott Hotel, gathering top executives, Regional and Station Managers, and key stakeholders under the theme: “Reimagining Excellence: Ethics, Thrive and Sustain.”

The retreat served as a platform for strategic reflection, leadership alignment, and forward-looking dialogue, as SAHCO seeks to enhance its leadership culture and long-term sustainability agenda. Sessions focused on emerging business realities, ethical leadership, performance excellence, and strategies for sustainable growth.

Anchored by Emmarach Limited and Learning and Development Network International (LDNI) in collaboration with SAHCO’s Training Department, the retreat featured expert facilitators leading interactive workshops on 360-Degree Leadership, Work–Life Integration, Ethical Workplace Standards, Leveraging Technology for Operational Excellence, and Economic Trends with Reform Drivers. These sessions aimed to equip leaders with tools to navigate an increasingly complex aviation industry.

A key highlight included presentations by Executive Directors and Regional Managers, who shared insights into market trends, operational achievements, challenges, and growth opportunities across regions.

The sessions promoted cross-functional learning and reinforced SAHCO’s commitment to data-driven decision-making and collaborative leadership.

Speaking at the retreat, SAHCO Chairman Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, CON, represented by SIFAX Group Coordinating Director Mrs. Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, lauded the Board, Management, and staff for projecting the Company positively.

He emphasized that operational excellence, strong ethical values, and sustainability have been fundamental to SAHCO’s success.

“This retreat is not only about strategy; it is also about shaping the leaders who will carry our vision forward and ensure that SAHCO continues to thrive with integrity, responsibility, and long-term impact,” he said.

In her opening address, Managing Director/CEO Mrs. Adenike Aboderin commended the Management Team for their leadership, dedication, and commitment, noting that disciplined leadership, strong corporate governance, and robust operations have been key to SAHCO’s milestones.

She urged staff not to be complacent but to translate achievements into accountability, capability, and measurable results, while reinforcing operational excellence, revenue growth, business expansion, and long-term sustainability.

The retreat also recognized outstanding performance across SAHCO’s stations and teams:
Most Profitable Station: Asaba
Overall Operations Performance: Lagos Domestic Station
Reliability Excellence Award: Port Harcourt Station
Safety and Quality Award: Benin Station
Reporting and Transparency Award: Abuja Station

Individual excellence was celebrated with the Digital Champions of 2025 Awards, presented to Ifeyinwa Emone (Abuja Station) and Ebere-Wali Kenneth (Calabar Station) for outstanding adoption of digital innovation.

The retreat concluded with actionable resolutions aimed at enhancing performance, ethical governance, innovation, and sustainable business practices across all regions.

Participants described the event as engaging, insightful, and impactful, strengthening unity of purpose and commitment to SAHCO’s strategic direction.
