The Delta State Police Command has recorded major operational breakthroughs with the arrest of suspected drug traffickers and a robbery suspect, alongside the recovery of 1,520 packets of prohibited drugs and a locally made firearm.

In the first operation, carried out on February 13, 2026, at about 10:30 p.m., operatives of the Eagle Net Special Squad intercepted a white J5 bus along the Asaba–Agbor Expressway near Northwest Filling Station during a routine stop-and-search duty.

The driver, Ebuka Dominion, 30, from Aguta Local Government Area of Anambra State, and the motor boy, Emmanuel Terdule, 30, from Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State, were arrested at the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the illicit consignment was meant for distribution. Acting on intelligence obtained during interrogation, operatives subsequently arrested Peter Etim Akpan, 47, from Nibiaya Uruan LGA of Akwa Ibom State, alleged to be the owner of the drugs.
Police said investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
In a separate operation on February 22, 2026, at about 3:20 p.m., operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team arrested a suspected armed robber and cultist in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
The suspect, identified as Collins Darlington, 23, of Ughewughe community, was apprehended at Otor Uweku area of Ughelli town following credible intelligence linking him to a series of robberies in Warri metropolis.
During interrogation, the suspect led operatives to a bush in the Jedo area of Warri, where a locally made gun concealed in the ground was recovered.
He reportedly confessed to being a member of the Aye Confraternity and admitted involvement in several door-to-door robbery incidents within Warri.
Police authorities said efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the criminal gang identified in the course of investigation.
CP Adesola reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing and the protection of lives and property, urging residents to continue providing credible and timely information to support the fight against crime in the state.
