The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has stepped up political consultations across Osun State to rally support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
Oyetola, who leads the APC in the state, convened strategic meetings with party elders, serving and former legislators, support groups, and influential stakeholders at his country residence in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area, according to a statement on Monday by his Special Adviser, Dr. Bolaji Akinola.
Speaking at the gathering, Oyetola stressed the need for unity and active grassroots engagement, calling the upcoming election “decisive and critical for the future of our party and the state.”
“This is the time for unity, loyalty, and sustained engagement with the people at the grassroots. We must strengthen our political structures and deepen consultations in every ward and community across the state,” he said.
The minister also endorsed APC governorship candidate Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, describing him as a leader with broad support across Osun and capable of delivering accountable and transformative governance.
Oyetola reminded party leaders that the governorship election is part of broader preparations for the 2027 general elections, stressing that “our collective resolve and unity will determine the outcome of the coming election.”
He commended party elders and members for their dedication, urging them to continue fostering peace, cooperation, and political stability. Participants at the meetings pledged to work together to ensure APC’s victory in the state.
