A journalist and grassroots mobiliser, Adewale Lateef Ojeleye, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly during the 2027 general elections.
Ojeleye signaled the commencement of his political ambition after obtaining the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s secretariat.
Speaking shortly after picking up the form, he pledged to offer purposeful representation driven by grassroots development, responsive leadership, and inclusive governance.
“This step reflects my unwavering commitment to serve the good people of Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01,” he said.
“I am determined to provide responsive leadership, champion the interests of our people, and contribute to the continued growth and development of Lagos State.”
He also expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters for their encouragement, while calling for unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ojeleye’s declaration is expected to boost political engagement within the constituency as preparations gradually gather momentum toward the polls.
A native of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area, Ojeleye hails from the Saala community and is described by supporters as an emerging political figure with strong grassroots connections and deep local understanding.
His educational journey began at Sonmori Senior Comprehensive High School before he proceeded to Lagos State Polytechnic, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration and Management.
He later earned certification in photojournalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos.
He built his early career in journalism as a photojournalist with notable media organisations including Daily Independent, The Niche, BusinessDay, Nigeria NewsDirect, and The Premier Tabloid, where he gained firsthand exposure to governance, public policy, and accountability issues.
In 2015, he further expanded his professional scope by working with the Lagos State Government as a photojournalist on special projects, deepening his engagement with public institutions.
Over the years, Ojeleye transitioned into media management and public relations, providing consultancy services for corporate organisations, individuals, and government agencies.
He is also an entrepreneur and publisher of the online platform seefinish.ng, while managing businesses such as Legends Lens Multi-Media Communications Ltd and Iya Oja Global Resources Limited.

Supporters believe his blend of media experience, business background, and grassroots mobilisation gives him the capacity to drive youth empowerment, support small business growth, and strengthen community development.
His campaign is centered on fresh ideas, inclusive governance, and stronger legislative representation for the people of Ifako-Ijaiye.
As political activities gradually build toward 2027, Ojeleye’s emergence is contributing to wider conversations around generational change and community-focused leadership within the APC in Lagos State.
