The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has congratulated maritime stakeholders across the country on the occasion of the 2026 Workers’ Day, commending their dedication and contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s maritime industry.
In a statement issued by Osagie Edward, FNIPR, Deputy Director and Head of Public Relations at NIMASA to mark the annual celebration, Mobereola praised the passion, resilience, and distinguished service of officers and stakeholders whose daily efforts continue to drive development within the sector.
The NIMASA boss noted that maritime workers remain critical to the advancement of the nation’s blue economy and the overall efficiency of the industry.

“To all the amazing officers and stakeholders in the maritime sector who bring their passion and expertise to work daily, thank you for your dedication and invaluable contributions,” he said while wishing them a happy Workers’ Day celebration.
Mobereola further emphasized that NIMASA, as the industry regulator, remains committed to its statutory oversight functions, particularly in regulating maritime labour activities in line with existing laws and international instruments.
He stated that the agency would continue to promote policies and standards that align with the expectations of the 2026 Workers’ Day theme, which focuses on safety, dignity, and productivity in the workplace.
According to him, ensuring safe working conditions, protecting the rights of maritime labour, and improving productivity remain central to the agency’s mandate and vision for the sector.
