NNPC Limited, through its Research, Technology, and Innovation Division (NNPC RTI), is hosting the 3rd Meeting of the APPO Forum for R&D Directors, bringing together research leaders from member countries of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization.
The meeting, scheduled for April 20 to 23, 2026, is being held at the PTDF Towers in Abuja, in collaboration with the Petroleum Technology Development Fund.
With the theme, “From Vision to Value: Accelerating Collaborative R&D and Innovation for a Sustainable African Energy Future,” the forum is focused on strengthening research and development collaboration across Africa’s petroleum sector.
The opening session will feature keynote addresses from the Secretary General of APPO, Farid Ghezali; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri; and the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Bashir Bayo Ojulari.

The programme includes facility tours, visits to research institutions, plenary and working sessions on strategic R&D initiatives, as well as a dinner and cultural night aimed at fostering collaboration among participants.
NNPC RTI said the initiative underscores its commitment to advancing research, technology, and innovation in Nigeria’s energy sector and across the African continent.
