Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced a strategic partnership with the African Export-Import Bank aimed at advancing energy development and industrialisation across the continent.

According to a statement issued on Monday, the collaboration was discussed during a meeting held last week between the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Ojulari, and the President and Chairman of Afreximbank, Dr. George Elombi, at the NNPC Towers in Abuja.

The company said both institutions agreed on a shared agenda focused on accelerating Africa’s energy development, boosting industrial growth, and strengthening strategic cooperation through regular high-level engagements.

The first of such strategic sessions is expected to take place later in the year.

NNPC Ltd. also outlined its Enterprise First framework, describing it as a strategic approach aimed at positioning the company as a high-performance, execution-driven “Partner of Choice” focused on profitability and operational efficiency.

A key highlight of the discussions was the proposed African Energy Bank, which is expected to be headquartered in Abuja. NNPC Ltd. reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the initiative and expanding investment in its development.
