The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government in Lagos State, Akeem Olalekan Dauda, has sworn in a new Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers in a ceremony held at the council secretariat in Ikeja.
The oath of office was administered by the Director of Legal Services of the council, Olubusola Bailey, who urged the appointees to carry out their responsibilities in line with the law and in the best interest of residents of the local government area.

Those inaugurated include Prince Yinka Illo as Secretary to the Local Government, alongside Matthew Ojewunmi, Dada Adams, Ayotunde Adenuga, Edward Aragbonfo, Tayo Aderinola, Segun Aderowo, Pelumi Ologunde, Funbi Akinduro, Sola Adeniyi, Oluwaseun Makinde, Joseph Christopher, Folashade Bajobi, Jumoke Ogunyemi, Ganiyu Oladeji, Femi Adeyemi, Austin Omoruyi and Saheed Ekundayo, who will serve as Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers.
In his remarks, Dauda congratulated the new appointees and described their appointments as a call to service, urging them to demonstrate dedication, loyalty and commitment to the development of the council area.
He said their collective efforts would further strengthen the administration’s drive to deliver impactful governance and improve the welfare of residents of Ikeja.
The chairman also encouraged the officials to work collaboratively, uphold transparency and contribute meaningfully to the transformation and progress of the local government.
Dignitaries at the ceremony included the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Abisola Omisore; the Council Manager, Juliana Taiwo Odubeko; Apex Leader, Funso Ologunde; and the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikeja, Adebowale Adetoro, among other party leaders and stakeholders.
The event marked a new phase in the council’s administration as it seeks to strengthen governance and accelerate development initiatives within the local government area.
