Adewole commended the company for its contributions to government revenue through excise duties and described BATN as a critical partner in strengthening Nigeria’s fiscal base through lawful industrial activities.

He noted that improved collaboration between the Service and the private sector would further enhance revenue collection while facilitating legitimate trade.

According to him, sustained cooperation with key industry players is essential for ensuring effective implementation of excise policies and boosting government income.

Responding, BATN’s Director of Operations, Hasnain Ishtiaq, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to regulatory compliance and continued support for policies aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economic growth.

He also acknowledged the role of the Customs Service in trade facilitation and border protection, which he said are vital to maintaining a stable business environment.

In a related development, Adewole also visited the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo, Abimbola Akeem Owoade, where he highlighted the economic consequences of smuggling and its impact on government revenue and local industries.

The Acting Controller called for stronger community collaboration in combating illicit trade, noting that smuggling undermines legitimate businesses and deprives the government of critical revenue needed for national development.

In his response, Oba Owoade pledged the support of the traditional institution in sensitising residents on the dangers of smuggling and encouraging lawful economic activities that contribute to sustainable development.

Adewole reiterated the commitment of the Oyo/Osun Area Command to deepening engagement with businesses, traditional institutions and communities to strengthen revenue mobilisation, promote legitimate commerce and support Nigeria’s economic prosperity.
