The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Akeem Olalekan Dauda, on Thursday carried out a routine environmental inspection and enforcement exercise across major parts of the council area, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to cleanliness, public safety, and sustainable urban management.
In a statement signed off by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Olalekan Oni, the exercise covered Awolowo Way, Computer Village, Oba Akran, and the Guinness axis, areas regarded as key commercial and industrial hubs within Ikeja.
Speaking during the inspection, Dauda stressed that a clean environment is directly linked to improved public health, safety, and economic productivity, noting that the initiative aligns with the I.K.E.J.A Agenda aimed at creating a conducive environment for business growth and improved quality of life for residents.
The operation involved officials of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), personnel of the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), supervisory councillors, and staff of the Ikeja Local Government Environmental Department.
Residents and business owners in the affected areas commended the chairman for his hands-on leadership style and consistent environmental enforcement efforts, describing the initiative as impactful in improving sanitation and orderliness across the local government.

They noted that the administration’s proactive approach has continued to enhance Ikeja’s reputation as one of the most functional and progressive local government areas in the country.
Dauda reiterated his commitment to sustaining the campaign, urging residents and stakeholders to take collective responsibility in maintaining a clean and healthy environment across the council area
