Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disclosed that he spends between $200,000 and $300,000 every month on personal expenses while in Nigeria.

The award-winning singer made the revelation during a live session on Davrel Twitch, where he explained that his spending habits differ significantly depending on whether he is in Nigeria or the United States.

According to Davido, his expenses are considerably lower in the US, where he lives with his wife and children, but rise sharply whenever he returns to Nigeria.

“I actually spend less in Yankee because I live with just me, my wife and my kids,” he said.

“When I’m around, I spend a lot more. We are balling every day.”

Pressed to provide an estimate of his monthly spending, the singer said he deliberately keeps his expenses within the range of $200,000 to $300,000, excluding several major costs.

“I can’t tell you how much, but I can tell you like 300. Normally, probably like 200 to 300,” Davido stated.

“This is minus my wife and the house… that one is closed. Minus buying jewellery or buying car.”

The singer further clarified that the figure does not include household expenses, luxury vehicles, jewellery purchases or the upkeep of his family.

Davido’s comments come days after he announced plans to establish a mental health therapy centre aimed at supporting formerly successful and popular celebrities dealing with the pressures of fame and life after the spotlight.

“If there is one thing I could do, I would build a centre for people who have been popular and very successful before,” he said.

The artist has previously spoken about the challenges associated with fame and the importance of mental well-being, particularly within the entertainment industry.
