The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dayo Mobereola, has called on the Muslim ummah and Nigerians at large to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, unity and patriotism as they celebrate this year’s Eid al-Adha.
Mobereola made the call in his goodwill message to staff of the agency, maritime stakeholders and the Muslim faithful during the celebration of the Islamic festival.
According to him, Eid al-Adha serves as a reminder of the importance of sacrifice, drawing inspiration from the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.
“This season reminds us yet again the importance of sacrifice as exemplified by the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.
Let us therefore embody this in our daily affairs by showing love to one another, exhibiting patriotism to our nation and above all remaining devoted to the teachings of Allah,” he said.
The NIMASA boss also extended warm greetings to staff and stakeholders in the maritime sector, appreciating their dedication towards the growth of the industry and the Federal Government’s Blue Economy agenda.
