The Nigeria Customs Service has intensified efforts to boost revenue generation and strengthen compliance with excise regulations, as its top officials engaged stakeholders in the Oyo/Osun Area Command.
The Assistant Comptroller-General in charge of Excise, Free Trade Zone and Industrial Incentives, Eghosa Joy Edelduok, led a delegation to meet with excise traders and key industry players at the Command’s operational headquarters on Thursday.
Addressing participants, Edelduok acknowledged the pivotal role of excise factories in driving revenue for the Service.
She commended stakeholders for their level of compliance and urged them to sustain their cooperation to help the Command and the Service surpass their revenue targets.
She also lauded the Oyo/Osun Area Command for its significant contribution to national revenue, noting that the Command accounts for about one-third of total collections.
The Assistant Comptroller-General charged officers overseeing excise factories to remain diligent and committed to achieving set targets for the year.
In his remarks, the Acting Customs Area Controller for the Command, Wale Moses Adewole, expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the management team for establishing a committee led by Edelduok.
Adewole described the initiative as a strategic platform for engaging stakeholders, promoting compliance with excise regulations, and addressing operational challenges faced by businesses.

The engagement ended with an interactive session, where stakeholders sought clarifications on key issues and highlighted challenges affecting their operations.
Customs officials assured participants of continued collaboration and support to enhance efficiency and compliance within the sector.
