The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversion around the Anthony Village Bus Stop following the commencement of excavation and reconstruction works aimed at permanently addressing recurring road damage caused by heavy rainfall.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Transportation on Monday, the government said the affected section of the road would be reconstructed with interlocking stones to improve its durability and withstand future weather-related damage.

As part of the traffic management plan, motorists travelling from Fadeyi and intending to access the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway through Anthony Village will not be able to use the route during the construction period.

Similarly, drivers intending to use the Anthony Village Bus Stop service lane to connect Oshodi have been advised to remain on the expressway and link up through the next available access road.

Motorists travelling from Oshodi towards Anthony–Ikorodu Road through Anthony Village were also informed that there is no through road at the project location.

The ministry urged motorists to plan their journeys in advance, avoid the Anthony Village Bus Stop and the affected service lane where possible, and use alternative routes to minimise traffic delays.

It appealed for public understanding and cooperation while the project is underway, assuring residents that the intervention is designed to provide a lasting solution to the persistent road failure.
