…Directs security chiefs to intensify operations
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the immediate launch of a coordinated rescue operation to secure the release of victims of the recent mass abduction in Niger State.
The President directed the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services and other relevant security and intelligence agencies to work together to locate and rescue those abducted.
Tinubu, in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, expressed outrage over the abduction and killing of innocent citizens by criminal elements in the state.
He condemned the attack as a cowardly assault on defenceless Nigerians and vowed that those responsible would be brought to justice.
“Those who carried out this cowardly attack on defenceless Nigerians are enemies of peace and enemies of humanity, who will not go scot-free,” the President said.
Tinubu also extended his condolences to families who lost loved ones in the attack, assuring them that the Federal Government would not abandon them.
“You are not alone.
The entire nation shares your anguish. We will not rest until your sons, daughters, mothers and fathers are brought back safely to you,” he said.
The President directed the Service Chiefs to provide him with regular updates on the rescue operation until all the abducted victims are accounted for.

The President said his administration remained committed to protecting citizens and restoring security in communities affected by criminal activities.
He also assured the people of Niger State of Federal Government support for recovery, relief efforts and additional security reinforcement following the attack.
