Tension as fire razes Lagos Airport

There was palpable tension on Monday following a fire outbreak at Terminal 1 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed the incident in a brief statement, assuring the public that emergency response teams were swiftly deployed to the scene.

According to FAAN, its firefighting unit is currently working to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.
“FAAN wishes to inform the public of a fire outbreak at Terminal 1 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Our firefighting team is currently responding and working to contain the situation. No loss of life has been recorded,” the statement read.

Passengers and airport users were reportedly thrown into panic as emergency protocols were activated, while authorities moved to secure the affected area.
