Nigeria’s leading aviation ground handling company, Skyway Aviation Handling Company PLC (SAHCO), has reinforced its commitment to operational excellence and service efficiency with the acquisition of ultra-modern Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to enhance aircraft handling operations across its nationwide network.

As part of the strategic upgrade, the company has taken delivery of a state-of-the-art Goldhofer F300 pushback tractor manufactured by Goldhofer, a globally respected German Ground Support Equipment producer. Also read: FCCPC, airline operators on collision course over price-fixing allegation

The Goldhofer F300, powered by a robust diesel engine, is designed to service most wide-body aircraft and is constructed with rugged materials suited to Nigeria’s operating terrain.
The equipment has already been deployed to one of SAHCO’s hub stations to further strengthen service delivery standards.

In addition, SAHCO has procured five Ground Power Units (GPUs) manufactured in France by Guinault, a renowned global aviation equipment manufacturer. Each unit features a capacity of 45kVA on 115 volts and 28VDC output, providing reliable and efficient electrical power to aircraft systems while on the ground.

Powered by fuel-efficient gasoline engines, the GPUs are engineered for durability, portability, and superior ramp performance, making them suitable for modern airport operations.NCAA defends regulatory crackdown, warns airlines against non-compliance

The advanced units can support most Class A aircraft as well as select Class B aircraft. Their compact design helps reduce fuel consumption, while rugged construction ensures long-term reliability and operational flexibility, particularly in high-traffic airport environments.

The acquisition forms part of SAHCO’s ongoing investment in cutting-edge GSE aimed at improving safety, reducing aircraft turnaround time, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering world-class service to its airline partners.

As the only aviation ground handling company with operational presence across all commercially operated airports in Nigeria, SAHCO said it remains committed to setting industry benchmarks through continuous equipment upgrades, technological advancement, and service innovation.

The addition of the new equipment further strengthens the company’s position as a leader in aviation ground handling in Africa, driven by excellence, reliability, and customer-focused solutions.

Skyway Aviation Handling Company PLC provides passenger handling, ramp services, cargo handling, aircraft cleaning, crew transportation, and other aviation support solutions across Nigeria’s aviation network.
