The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at the monarch’s palace in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The visit provided an opportunity for the minister to pay homage to the revered traditional ruler and elder statesman while holding discussions on national development, purposeful leadership and the continued progress of the South-West region.

During the meeting, Oyetola commended the Olubadan for his longstanding contributions to peace, unity and political stability in Ibadanland and beyond.
He described the monarch as a respected voice of wisdom whose influence continues to shape both traditional and civic affairs in the region.
The minister also acknowledged the role of traditional institutions in fostering social harmony and supporting government initiatives aimed at national development.
In his response, Oba Ladoja warmly received the minister and praised his record of public service, particularly his leadership in advancing Nigeria’s marine and blue economy sector.

The monarch encouraged Oyetola to sustain efforts toward harnessing the country’s vast maritime resources to drive economic growth and create employment opportunities.
