Operatives of the Omu-Ijebu Divisional Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Ogun State have foiled a suspected vehicle theft and illegal repainting operation, leading to the arrest of a 22-year-old woman, Azeez Khadijat.
According to a statement issued by the Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the incident occurred on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at about 4:00 p.m. along Ikhasi Road, Kajola via Omu-Ijebu.
Acting on credible intelligence, detectives stormed a bush location where three men and one woman were allegedly seen repainting a Suzuki mini bus popularly known as “Korope” without a registration number.
The vehicle, suspected to have originally been yellow, was reportedly being repainted in white and blue colours in an attempt to conceal its identity.
Upon sighting the police, the suspects fled in different directions, but Khadijat was arrested at the scene inside the abandoned vehicle.
Items recovered from the location included three mobile phones, one power bank, a can of paint, sandpaper, and a Type-C charging cable, believed to belong to the fleeing suspects.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the minibus may have been used for criminal activities in Lagos State before the suspects attempted to alter its appearance to evade detection.
The recovered vehicle, bearing a Lagos registration plate, has been secured at the station, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the swift response of officers and assured that all accomplices involved will be brought to justice.
The command also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through its emergency lines.
The case remains under investigation.
