A total of 18 ships are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at Apapa PortLagos, Nigeria”], Lekki Port”], and Tin-Can Island Port Nigerian Ports Authority announced on Saturday.
The authority stated that the vessels are unloading a range of goods, including buck fertilizer, general cargo, bulk sugar, gasoline, bulk urea, condensate, bulk gypsum, and containers.
In addition, 46 other ships carrying petroleum products, food items, and assorted goods are expected to arrive at Lagos ports between Saturday and February 22, according to the NPA.
These incoming vessels will bring general cargoes, bulk urea, bulk wheat, empty containers, crude oil, RWA crude oil, bulk gypsum, trucks, bulk gas, pallets, containers of various goods, bulk salt, and petrol.
The NPA further reported that seven ships have already arrived and are waiting to berth, carrying bulk urea, crude oil, diesel, aviation fuel, general cargo, and petrol, underscoring a busy period for Lagos’ maritime operations.
The authority emphasized that the active discharge and influx of ships reflect the ports’ critical role in sustaining the supply of essential commodities and petroleum products across the country.
