The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced June 13, 2026, as the date for the conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise for candidates who missed the examination despite successful biometric verification.
JAMB disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by its Public Communication Adviser, Dr Fabian Benjamin.
According to the board, the mop-up examination is specifically for candidates who presented themselves for the 2026 UTME but were unable to sit for the examination due to various challenges encountered during the exercise.
Benjamin explained that although the 2026 UTME was conducted between April 16 and April 23, some examination centres experienced technical difficulties which prevented several candidates from taking the examination.
He added that candidates whose results were withdrawn over examination infractions, as well as those who could not be biometrically verified on the examination day, had also been scheduled to participate in the mop-up exercise.
The JAMB spokesman described the examination as the final phase of the annual UTME process and an opportunity to address all unresolved issues affecting candidates who could not take the examination earlier.

He advised affected candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from June 6 to access details of their examination centres and schedules.
Benjamin further urged all eligible candidates to familiarise themselves with their examination centres and make adequate logistical arrangements ahead of the examination date.
He, however, stressed that there would be no additional opportunity for candidates to sit for the 2026 UTME after the mop-up examination.
