President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending about four weeks in Europe, assuring Nigerians that he is healthy and ready to resume his official duties.
Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday evening from Paris, where he spent the latter part of his working vacation.
Speaking to journalists upon arrival, the President dismissed concerns surrounding his health, saying he remained fit and prepared to continue governing the country.
“Rumours will always emanate from politics. I am hale and strong. I am ready to work. The fact remains that I am here, healthy, sound and ready to go,” Tinubu said.

The President departed Nigeria on August 30 for London before proceeding to Paris. The Presidency described the trip as a working vacation and later announced an extension of his stay by a few days.
His prolonged absence from the country generated political debate, with opposition figures questioning the length of the trip and his decision not to personally attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Presidency maintained that Tinubu remained in contact with government officials and continued to oversee the affairs of the country while abroad.
Vice President Kashim Shettima represented the President at several major engagements during the period, including the UN General Assembly in New York.
While in France, Tinubu held meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré. The Presidency also said he engaged investors and participated in discussions concerning major investment initiatives, including the proposed Gateway Deep Sea Port in Ogun State.
The President is expected to remain in Lagos for Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary celebrations.
He is scheduled to participate in official activities marking the October 1 celebration before returning to Abuja.
