The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State for the 2027 election, Solomon Adeola, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to fairness and inclusiveness in the political process.

Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District in the Senate, made the remarks on Tuesday in Abeokuta in a statement following his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate.

He described his emergence as a product of unity, equity, and collective resolve within the party, expressing deep appreciation to President Tinubu for his mentorship, guidance, and sustained support throughout his political career.

“I must specially thank President Tinubu for his mentorship, guidance and support in my political journey. He, alongside the First Lady, has always supported my aspirations over the years,” Adeola said.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation also acknowledged the support of Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and former governor, Olusegun Osoba, describing their backing as instrumental to his emergence.

Adeola noted that his candidacy represents a historic opportunity for Ogun West Senatorial District, which he said had yet to produce a governor since the state’s creation.

He further extended appreciation to former governors Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun for their roles in fostering consensus within the party.

Commending the Ogun APC executive, led by Yemisi Sanusi, Adeola praised party stakeholders and fellow aspirants for embracing unity and demonstrating statesmanship during the selection process.

“There are no winners or losers. The APC family has emerged stronger and more united,” he said.

He called on party members and stakeholders across the state to close ranks and work towards electoral success in the 2027 general elections, while also urging Ogun indigenes at home and in the diaspora to rally behind a shared vision for development.

Adeola pledged to build on the achievements of previous administrations and introduce new initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents.

“In unity lies our strength and in our shared purpose, we will secure a brighter future for Ogun State,” he added.
