Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has announced an expansion of its domestic operations for the Summer 2026 season, increasing flight frequencies and seat capacity across major routes to meet growing passenger demand.

The airline said the enhanced schedule, which takes effect from June 22, is aimed at improving connectivity, offering greater travel flexibility and strengthening links between key commercial and regional centres across the country.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Lagos, the airline’s spokesperson, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, said the expanded operations underscore Air Peace’s commitment to providing seamless and convenient travel experiences for passengers.

According to him, Lagos-Abuja services will increase to seven daily flights under the new schedule, while Lagos-Owerri will operate four daily flights and Lagos-Asaba three daily flights.

He added that Lagos-Benin, Lagos-Warri and Lagos-Enugu routes would each benefit from increased frequencies, with Abuja-Owerri and Abuja-Asaba also operating up to two daily flights.

Osifo-Whiskey said the additional services would be supported by Air Peace’s modern fleet, providing enhanced comfort, reliability and operational efficiency.

“As travel demand continues to rise during summer, we are strategically increasing capacity and frequencies.

These additional flights will provide greater flexibility, improved travel options and convenient schedules.
“Our objective remains to connect people, businesses and communities while delivering a superior travel experience,” he said.

The spokesperson noted that the expansion would contribute to economic growth by facilitating trade, tourism and business activities while promoting national integration.

In a further boost to its network, Air Peace announced plans to commence flights to four new African destinations from Aug. 1 as part of its regional expansion strategy.

The new destinations include Douala in Cameroon, Libreville in Gabon, Bamako in Mali and Conakry in Guinea.

According to Osifo-Whiskey, the Lagos-Douala-Libreville-Douala-Lagos route will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while the Lagos-Bamako-Conakry-Bamako-Lagos service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

He described the development as a major milestone in the airline’s efforts to improve connectivity across West and Central Africa.

“The launch of these regional services underscores our commitment to safe, reliable and affordable air travel. By expanding across West and Central Africa, we are facilitating commerce, tourism and integration.

“Lagos continues to evolve as a key hub, enabling seamless connections across Africa,” he said.

Osifo-Whiskey added that passengers arriving in Lagos from the new regional destinations would have access to onward connections to several Nigerian cities, including Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin, Enugu, Owerri, Kano, Asaba, Gombe and Ibadan.

He noted that the expansion aligns with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and supports the Single African Air Transport Market initiative aimed at enhancing air connectivity and reducing travel barriers across the continent.
