The Arewa Community in Ogun State has endorsed the governorship aspiration of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, pledging to mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate across the state’s 20 local government areas ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The endorsement was announced during a consultative and interactive meeting held at Senator Adeola’s constituency office in Ilaro, Ogun State, where leaders of the northern community expressed their commitment to embark on a statewide door-to-door sensitisation campaign in support of his candidacy.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Director-General of the Southwest Arewa Community, Alhaji Shehu Usman, described Senator Adeola as a detribalised Nigerian and a progressive leader committed to improving the welfare of the people.
According to him, the Arewa Community believes the lawmaker possesses the leadership qualities needed to move Ogun State forward.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant on Inter-Ethnic Affairs and Coordinator of the Arewa Door-to-Door Campaign for Senator Adeola, Prince Hadi Sani, said the Hausa community considers the Ogun West senator the right candidate to consolidate the achievements of Governor Dapo Abiodun, particularly in promoting peaceful coexistence and strengthening inter-ethnic relations.
He disclosed that the community had resolved to brand 10 campaign buses in support of Adeola’s governorship bid and would embark on extensive grassroots mobilisation across the state.
“We will go from door to door to canvass support for the people’s senator,” Sani said.

His consultations come after he was declared the APC’s consensus governorship candidate in Ogun State following endorsements by party stakeholders from the state’s three senatorial districts.
