The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has adopted Solomon Adeola as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

Adeola, popularly known as Yayi and representing Ogun West Senatorial District, was adopted on Monday at a strategic caucus meeting held at the party secretariat in Abeokuta.

The meeting, presided over by the state APC Chairman, Yemi Sanusi, was attended by Governor Dapo Abiodun and other key stakeholders.

Announcing the decision, Abiodun urged other aspirants to rally behind Adeola in the interest of party unity, stressing the need to prioritise collective goals over individual ambitions ahead of the election.

“It gives me great pleasure… to congratulate Sen. Adeola as our consensus and unanimously selected governorship candidate for the year 2027,” the governor said.

He commended party members for what he described as a high level of political maturity and magnanimity, urging stakeholders to embrace a “no victor, no vanquished” approach.

In his acceptance speech, Adeola thanked party leaders and members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged not to disappoint.
