The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and other agencies under the Ministry of Petroleum Resources have moved to strengthen accountability, operational efficiency and service delivery across the petroleum sector.

The renewed focus formed the centrepiece of the 31st Ministerial SERVICOM Networking Quarterly Committee Meeting (MSNQCM), hosted by the NCDMB at the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The meeting, themed “Go the Extra Mile,” brought together SERVICOM officials, nodal officers and representatives of Boards, Departments and Agencies under the Ministry to review service delivery performance and identify areas requiring improvement.

Representing the NCDMB Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE, the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Esueme Dan Kikile, Esq., said the Board remained committed to improving the quality of services delivered to stakeholders through capacity development, regulatory compliance and stronger engagement.

Kikile described the meeting as an important platform for accountability and cross-learning among government agencies, stressing that regulatory and infrastructure challenges required greater transparency, innovation and inter-agency collaboration.

He said strengthening institutional processes and improving coordination among agencies would help create a more effective environment for the implementation of Nigerian Content policies and programmes.

The Head of Operations, SERVICOM Office, Mrs Ngozi Akinbodewa, and the Chairman of Nodal Officers, Mr Akinwumi Akintan, also stressed the need for agencies to strengthen their standard operating procedures.

They emphasised that the adoption of clear operational procedures and the implementation of actionable outcomes were essential to improving service delivery and ensuring that government institutions remained responsive to stakeholders.

The meeting also reviewed third-quarter SERVICOM activities carried out by Boards, Departments and Agencies under the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

The review provided an opportunity for participating agencies to share experiences, assess service delivery efforts and identify areas requiring further attention.

For the NCDMB, the meeting was also an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to deepening Nigerian Content through capacity development, stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance and improved institutional performance.

The NCDMB delegation included the Board’s Manager, SERVICOM, Mrs Seleke-ere Owoupele, alongside other Nodal and Focal Officers.

The emphasis on accountability and service delivery comes as government agencies seek to improve institutional efficiency and strengthen their contribution to Nigeria’s petroleum sector development.
