The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has apologised to Band A customers across Ogun, Oyo and Kwara states after several feeders failed to meet their mandated daily electricity supply hours on Monday.
The company attributed the disruptions to technical faults, load shedding, forced outages and disconnections linked to non-payment by customers.
In a public announcement issued on Tuesday, IBEDC said the affected customers did not receive their estimated electricity supply hours due to operational challenges across the transmission and distribution networks.
The company said the disruptions were caused by a combination of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) forced outages and load shedding, IBEDC forced outages and load shedding, overcurrent and earth faults, as well as disconnections over unpaid electricity bills.
Some Band A feeders recorded zero hours of supply, including the Water Works (Ojere) 33kV feeder serving the Arakanga Water Scheme and Iberekodo in Abeokuta.
According to IBEDC, the feeder was disconnected due to non-payment.
The Railway (Papa) 33kV feeder, which supplies the Papalanto Train Station, also recorded zero hours of supply and remained disconnected over non-payment.
A similar situation occurred on the Moniya Railway 33kV feeder, which supplies the Moniya Train Station in Ibadan.
The company said the feeder was still out of supply due to disconnection for non-payment.
The Joju 33kV feeder, serving Owode, Ajibode and Iya Ilogbo areas, also experienced a prolonged outage after a breaker fault caused a TCN forced outage that lasted from midnight until 11pm.
Several other Band A feeders recorded between 12 and 19 hours of electricity supply as a result of equipment faults, load shedding and other operational challenges.
The Oluyole 11kV feeder, serving Oluyole Estate, Johnson Awe, Sokan, Queen School Road, Alaro, Oluode and Ibadan Garage Roads, recorded 15 hours of supply.
IBEDC said the feeder experienced a company-forced outage between noon and 5pm before tripping on an overcurrent fault between 6pm and 7pm.
The Molete Industrial 33kV feeder, serving areas including Podo, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, Akala Way and Ring Road, recorded 19 hours after tripping on overcurrent and earth faults between 2pm and 6pm.
The Express 33kV feeder, covering the Interchange Injection Substation, recorded 12 hours after tripping on overcurrent and earth faults from midnight to 11am.
Similarly, the Eruwa Lanlate 33kV feeder, serving Olohuntumo, Owode Estate, Omi Adio, Zartech and Eruwa, recorded 19 hours following earth and overcurrent faults.
The Idofian 33kV feeder, serving communities including Afon Road, Ganmo, Amoyo, Jimba, Elerinjare, Gata, Idofian, Fufu, Okanle and Igbaja, also recorded 19 hours after an overcurrent fault.

The Water Works (Papalanto) 33kV feeder, serving Sagamu Road, Papalanto and Iro Sango, also recorded 17 hours following TCN load shedding during the same period.
The Ijagba 33kV feeder, serving Unity and Peace, Ijagba, Odan, Kafidupe, Oko Ewe and Kings Estate, recorded 19 hours after being affected by TCN load shedding from 10am to 2pm.
The Ogunmakin/Ajebo 33kV feeder supplied electricity for 19 hours after tripping on an earth fault between 3pm and 7pm.
Other affected feeders included the Poly 11kV feeder, which recorded 15 hours after IBEDC load shedding and an earth fault, while the Makun Commercial 33kV feeder also recorded 15 hours following an earth fault that lasted from midnight to 8am.
IBEDC said most of the affected feeders had been restored as of Tuesday, while three feeders remained without electricity supply.
The company said the Water Works (Ojere) 33kV feeder remained out, while the Moniya Railway and Railway (Papa) 33kV feeders were still disconnected because of non-payment.
“Kindly note that the mentioned feeders have been restored except Water Works (Ojere) 33kV feeder while Moniya Railway and Railway (Papa) 33kV feeders are still out due to disconnection,” the company said.
IBEDC reaffirmed its commitment to meeting the expected supply hours for customers and improving service delivery across its franchise areas.
“We remain committed to delivering the estimated hours of supply,” the management said.
