Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed confidence in the readiness of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to secure victory across Lagos State in the 2027 general elections.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed this in a statement posted on his X handle on Monday after visiting the party’s presidential and governorship campaign offices to assess preparations for the elections.

The governor said the campaign committee had commenced strategic planning and was working on strategies to ensure the party’s success in the 2027 polls.

He noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is seeking re-election on the APC platform, alongside the party’s Lagos governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, and other candidates remained committed to the campaign.

“The campaign committee is fully in its element, mapping out the road ahead and sharpening our strategy,” Sanwo-Olu said.

According to him, the level of preparation reflects “serious, structured work happening behind the scenes” as the party positions itself for the elections.

The governor said the commitment displayed by APC members had further strengthened his confidence in the party’s readiness to retain its political dominance in Lagos.

“I am encouraged by the energy and sense of purpose,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu described the APC as “focused, aligned and ready to win across the board,” while assuring that the party would continue to pursue its development agenda in Lagos.

“Together, we will keep building on Lagos’s momentum and pushing our state forward,” the governor added.

The governor’s comments come as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with campaigns and internal mobilisation expected to gather momentum ahead of the polls.
