The 2026 tournament, held at the historic Lagos Polo Club from January 27 to February 15, attracted top local and international teams, dignitaries, corporate leaders, and thousands of spectators, cementing its status as Africa’s premier polo event.
In a thrilling final, Lagos STL defeated Shoreline/A1 10–7 with a dramatic late goal, capping a dominant campaign that included victories in the Independence Cup, Dapo Ojora Cup, Owen Cup, and Argentine Ambassador’s Cup.
The sweep highlighted STL’s depth, discipline, and championship pedigree.
GTCO Group CEO Segun Agbaje said the tournament underscores the broader impact of sports in nation-building and global visibility.
