The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed confidence that he will emerge victorious in the August 15 governorship election, declaring that he looks forward to returning to pay homage to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next governor of the state.
Oyebamiji made the declaration on Monday after accompanying the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, on a courtesy visit to President Tinubu in Lagos.
In a statement issued after the visit, the APC flagbearer described the meeting as an opportunity for party leaders to reaffirm their commitment to progressive governance, national development and the ideals of the ruling party.
He praised President Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a father figure, national leader and a symbol of progressive politics whose vision continues to shape Nigeria’s development trajectory.
“I had the honour of joining our leader, Dr. Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, to pay homage to our father and national leader. President Tinubu remains a symbol of progressive leadership and national development,” Oyebamiji said.
“The visit afforded us another opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the ideals that continue to move our nation forward.”
The APC candidate expressed optimism that the party would reclaim Osun State in the forthcoming election, citing growing support from residents and ongoing grassroots mobilization efforts across the state.
According to him, the people of Osun remain committed to the progressive vision that has delivered development and prosperity in various communities over the years.
“By the grace of God and the support of the people of Osun, I remain confident of victory in the coming election. I believe that the people of our state are committed to the progressive vision that has brought development and prosperity to many communities,” he said.
“With their support and the grace of God, we shall emerge victorious and continue the task of building a better Osun.”
Oyebamiji said his aspiration to govern the state is driven by a desire to serve the people and improve the welfare of communities across Osun through people-oriented policies and effective leadership.
He added that he hoped to return for a similar visit to President Tinubu next year, but this time in his capacity as the Governor of Osun State.
“In the coming year, I hope to return for this same noble visit as the Governor of our dear state. I look forward to joining other progressive governors in continued service to our people and the advancement of our shared vision for a greater Nigeria,” he stated.
The APC governorship candidate reiterated his commitment to sustaining the party’s development agenda and implementing policies aimed at improving living standards, expanding economic opportunities and promoting inclusive growth if elected.
He disclosed that consultations with stakeholders, party leaders, community groups and residents have continued across the state as part of efforts to strengthen support for the APC ahead of the election.

According to him, the engagements are designed to present the party’s programmes to voters and deepen grassroots participation in the electoral process.
Oyebamiji emerged as the APC governorship candidate after securing overwhelming support from delegates during the party’s primary election.
The APC is seeking to regain control of Osun State in the August 15 governorship poll, with the party intensifying consultations and campaign activities across the state in preparation for the contest.
