The 20th Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games (NOGIG 2026) officially began yesterday at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, marking a major milestone in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector sporting calendar.

NNPC Limited proudly joined the opening ceremony with top executives including Group Chief Operating Officer Roland Ewubare, Executive Vice President Gas, Power and New Energy Olalekan Ogunleye, and Executive Vice President Business Services Sophia Mbakwe, alongside staff and other industry leaders.

The week-long NOGIG 2026, running from 8th to 14th February, will feature athletes from NNPC Limited competing in multiple sports disciplines such as athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, scrabble, swimming, squash, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, and 8-ball pool.

NNPC Limited aims to maintain its dominance after clinching the overall championship at the 19th edition of NOGIG, while also promoting fitness, teamwork, and camaraderie across the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

The NOGIG tournament has grown into a premier event that not only highlights sportsmanship among oil and gas professionals but also fosters networking, collaboration, and employee wellness throughout the sector.
