Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested 146 suspects during a coordinated, intelligence-driven security operation tagged “Operation Keep Sagamu Safe,” carried out in collaboration with other security agencies and community stakeholders.
The operation, conducted in the early hours of April 13, 2026, took place across identified flashpoints within Sagamu, where suspected criminal activities were believed to pose threats to public peace and safety.
According to the police, the raid was the outcome of strategic engagements with traditional rulers, local government authorities, and heads of sister security agencies aimed at strengthening joint security efforts and preventing breakdown of law and order in the area.
Security operatives involved in the exercise included personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Amotekun Corps, the So-Safe Corps, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, as well as military personnel.
The suspects are currently undergoing screening to determine their level of involvement in suspected criminal activities. Those found culpable are expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.

The Commander of the operation, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the synergy among security agencies, describing the exercise as a model of proactive and intelligence-led policing. He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining peace and security across Ogun State.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through designated emergency lines provided by the command.
The police say the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and strengthen community-based security collaboration across Ogun State.
