The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, Olukayode Ajulo, has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for what he described as a remarkable transformation of infrastructure across the state, particularly in the capital, Akure.
Ajulo gave the commendation in a statement, where he highlighted the ongoing beautification projects and the construction of ultra-modern road intersections, describing them as world-class developments that have elevated the city’s status.
He said the newly installed traffic systems, including modern traffic lights, not only improve traffic management but also serve as symbols of progress and innovation.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa is not merely constructing roads; he is building a legacy of excellence, order, and beauty,” Ajulo said, adding that the projects reflect a blend of functionality, safety, and aesthetics.
The Attorney General also called on residents, motorists, and pedestrians to adopt responsible road usage, stressing that discipline and adherence to traffic rules are essential to sustaining the gains of infrastructure development.
He noted that true progress depends not only on physical infrastructure but also on the collective commitment of citizens to uphold order and safety.
As part of efforts to strengthen traffic law enforcement, Ajulo announced plans to establish mobile courts in collaboration with the state judiciary for the prompt prosecution of traffic offenders.
He explained that the initiative, to be implemented in partnership with the Chief Judge of the state, is aimed at ensuring swift adjudication of traffic violations while promoting compliance and deterrence.

According to him, the mobile courts will focus on correcting behaviour and protecting lives, rather than serving solely as punitive measures.
“The courts will ensure that every violation is promptly addressed, safeguarding the gains of development and enhancing road safety across the state,” he said.
The initiative is expected to complement the state government’s urban renewal efforts and reinforce adherence to the rule of law on the roads.
